When AM and 3D printing enters more and more into all kinds of business sectors it is definitely time to watch out for new business opportunities. There is a challenge to find the competences required to be in the game - and it is not very easy to up-skill the existing managers and employees - but if you can manage that - the opportunity can be a success for your business.

Buying or earning "followers" and "likes"?

​Buying votes in an election is normally considered a form of corruption and not very democratic. However it is used by people, and organizations, all over the world to reach an attractive position or to be the winner of a contest. In business we can see some of the same phenomenon, entrepreneurs and businesses buying "likes" and "followers" on social media to look more successful and interesting to the audience and real followers.

As I always have been an honest person and don´t like to fool people with pretending to have achieved something I didn´t and that is never going to be my model of doing it. The same rule has always been applied to my businesses and used as a policy for my staff and preferred partners.

Getting new customers is always a top priority activity in our Businesses To-Do-lists. It is the customer who pays your bills and brings you food on the table. How many hours a week do you really spend to get new customers?
In a solo enterprise there you are the one and only resource - you still have to be active in finding new customers and to make them buy your products and services. Are you able to adopt to your potential customers needs and behaviors? Or are you in "Marketing & Sales" mode just when it suites you and your calendar?

Specially if you have a business there you sell your "hours" to your customers, after an intense period of delivering to them you find your self with an empty order book. Because you didn´t have time to find new customers when you were busy. To find a balance between delivering and selling is one of the great challenges we face in a small business where we don´t have a sales department working full time with selling. What can we do about it when?

Working from bed...

Just think about the opportunity to work from bed.

Either you can't sleep, waking up in the middle of the night or your eyes are crystal clear in the early morning. You don't need to get up to release your ideas or to share your decisions with partners.

Develop your business when you sleep - and make it happen in reality. Here is how to do it
I also have access to my mind map software that allows me to be a bit unstructured and creative from start - but in the next stage, maybe in the morning, shape things up and make a clear priority and to do list. For this I am using Mind Manager since many years but there are now some really nice cloud based tools that are free or at a low monthly cost.

My eyes are closing now - so please bear with me - this is as far as I get tonight. Now I will let my brain process the ideas and issues from today - and wake up with a solution tomorrow
